How quickly time passes us by when we are focused on other circumstances. Two years ago I used a trip to Singapore as inspiration to start a blog. Friends and family were getting used to me traveling around the world, but wanted to know more about where I was and what I was doing. The answer seemed so easy -- start a personal blog that would let me share my travels with everyone.
Setting up my blog and working through all the personalizations was great fun. I kept thinking "so this is why everyone has a blog these days." I finished my first entry, published it out for all seven people anxiously awaiting, and proceeded to get caught up in life.
I was changing roles in my company and found myself bouncing back and forth between my two worlds. One week I was in Asia and the next in our corporate headquarters. Then off to Europe followed by meeting one of my new customers in the States. We pursued the largest deal in our company's history and before I knew it the blog was left standing derelict.
I wrestled with my disappointment, but never got back to the blog. Which I am sure is still live on another provider waiting for me to return. I talked my sisters into doing a siblings blog which also languished in my incredibly challenging travel schedule.
There are some weeks I am home less than a week total. The energy and time consumed racing all over the country is significant. Especially for someone who has done it the past 20 years. The 30 minutes I used to squeeze out of a day are now consumed with resting a bit more or trying to read a few pages in silence.
I cannot assure myself that this time around will produce any different results. I hope it does and I really take off with my posts. There seems so much on my horizon I will want to share. I hope to talk my sisters into launching our joint blog as the year progresses as well. We shall see how COSMOPOLITANT makes its way for a few months.
I hope all of you get to catch up a little more on what is happening in my life and understand a bit more what goes on with my days. I will share some about travel, current events, life, and such. As always, I look forward to hearing from you and sharing the wonders we are presented every day.
